WelcomeWelcome to have a peep in my little museum! The collection here is quite extraordinary. Every single piece has to be connected with, or depicting bestiality, the behaviour of humans having sex with other species. Next to heterosexual behaviour, and homosexual behaviour, there is a third orientation: zoosexual behaviour. Since prehistoric times these all have been subject of exploring artists, ignoring taboos as far as there were any. It is certainly not so that all cultures nurtured the taboo on bestiality, like the modern western culture in many places still does, mainly because of the influence of the Christian faith. Nor do all cultures place the same weight and meaning in what you may think of, at first glance, as identical. - Please do not assume any male person walking closely hand in hand with another male in Saoudi Arabia must be gay, or you might find yourself in serious trouble there very quickly! - They're probably just good friends, while there is a strong taboo effective on being gay.... Only an example to show that perceptions are by far not always true, or at least often misguiding. |

A New Introduction - 2007
Let's start off with an apology: "Sorry, but the (free) webaddress "http://home.wanadoo.nl/mh/museum" recently just ceased to be available because of provider reorganisations". For technical reason the "mh" in it was no longer possible. There is no reason whatsoever to think that censorship was involved.
The Museum of Bestial Art started off in 1996, simply as an online backup of data I found during research for my own interests in art at the time. Eventually, in fact quite soon because the stats proved this was interesting for lots of people, this listing evolved into the form of the "Museum". As you will see the setup of this museum is in parallel order, not necessarily to be viewed serialwise. The ten main exhibition rooms all have multiple links to the archive. Use the MAP!!!
